My finished ident!


This is my finished ident!!!



TV Idents Production Process





I used the water fall Particle Emitters to start of making my Ident. the waterfall was small and i had to make it bigger by using its life force  to reach a certain amount of life that would suit the ident.




I then used the Camp Fire Particle Emitters and did the same with its life force. this lets grow to a certain point so then it collides with the waterfall. the Camp Fire had to be rotated 90 degrees clockwise  to make it go in a certain direction.



i then had them both fade in from a small size and then they both grew and became bigger going in the direction of each other. i had to have them do it at the same time to make it look realistic.



at this point i had both elements go against each other to make it look like they are trying to cancel the other element out. i made them come in the middle. 




Then i added the Big Blast from the Particle Emitters list and placed it in the middle to show that the elements did that. after that the waterfall and camp fire fade out. then the Big Blast faded out straight after.









I then added the impulse in  shape of a circle from the different choices that were in the Particle Emitters. I then edited to change colour every couple of seconds.




I then edited the word Boom by putting a 'inflate in' and had that edited to suit the ident. we also edited the speed by increasing it.







I then added an explosion to show effect in the explosion that happens with the Big Blast. I also put music in the ident to give it an exciting feeling.




I got some feedback from my peers and they said that they liked the different colours I used, they said that they liked my idea and how I animated. However they said that maybe it could be a little longer.

I was inspired by the fight scents  that i see in anime and the different elements that clash together.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Mixed genders 16-20 years old


AUDIENCE PROFILE  

A typical member of our audience will be a college/ university student who has a part time job. They would live on the campus. They would normally watch American sit-com and chat shows that relate to their age group.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF IDENT

We will have to actors in the ident. One will shoot water from his mouth and the other will shoot fire. Then we will see the two elements collide into each other and see the two elements mixing together.  Then we will see the word BOOM slowly coming out from the middle. 




BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF STYLE

The ident’s style is animated, this will be easier to make and more people will want to watch it. The images that it will mainly contain are water and fire. This is because we will see these two images coming together. This leads to the colour scheme, the colour scheme will mainly be blue, red and orange throughout the whole ident.  The colour scheme in the end will be Black as that colour will end the whole ident. 




DISCUSS ASPECTS OF BRAND IDENTITY



This ident will create a brand identity because it is something you don’t see with the other idents. This ident attracts people because of how the logo and the two different elements come together and make the logo. These two elements have always been spoken by people through history of which element is stronger and which element can overcome the other. However seeing them come together and be at the same level makes it look interesting and people would want to see the outcome of the two elements colliding.  This links to the content of the channel because it shows that the content will have unexpected outcomes just like the ident.

Treatments for 7 second our ident

               We have made two treatments, one for our 7 second ident and one for our 30 second  ident.


The first one is the 7 second ident...



NAME OF PRODUCTION:

Yasty Productions


TARGET AUDIENCE:

The target audience will be a group of boys and girls between 16-30 year old.


AUDIENCE PROFILE:

A typical member of our audience would be a college/University student who has a part time job. They would live on the campus. They would normally watch American sit-com and chat shows that relate to their age group.


BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF IDENT:

The main idea of the ident shows a small power struggle and between black tendrils and a Dark blue wave. It shows the 2 entities approach each other and it looks like the black tendrils will cover everything but at the last moment, the blue wave will emerge from the middle of the black tendrils, showcasing the logo in the process.


BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF STYLE

The ident will be animated. This will make it easier to make. The main colour scheme will include black and blue. There will be various shades of both colours, such as grey and light/dark blue. I chose these colours because it will show the kinds of shows that will be shown on the channels as well as, contradicting some of the shows that will be shown. This is so the viewer doesn’t know what to expect when they watch the shows, but have a good idea because of the ident. The only images that will be used are the logo of the ident. This is mainly because the ident will be animated.


DISCUSS ASPECTS OF BRAND IDENTITY


This ident will show that this channel isn’t like all the others. It will do this by the contrast of the colours and overall theme of the logo compared to the shows that will be played.  The dark theme and the blue give a sense of good verses bad. The breakthrough of the blue shows good overcoming evil and showing the logo at the end is the ‘resolution’ of the 7 second struggle. This will appeal to the audience since this is widely well received and common theme. What makes this unusual is that instead of light and dark, its black and blue.

TV idents Logo ideas


We have made 5 logo ideas for our Boom channel, and these are the 5 of the ideas that we have come up with.   


This is the first idea we came up with for our ident. this is meant to be fire and water cashing to give the word BOOM some effect that makes it stand out.  the fire and water in the background shows it mixing in the middle which gives it a beautiful effect that people would be attracted to and the word in the middle 'BOOM' gives the opportunity to place the word   in the middle where  most people would be looking at. 

This is our second idea that we have made. This ident is meant to be bright and have different colours coming in to the middle and explode out the word 'BOOM'. This grabs the audience attention and it  makes the word 'Boom' stand out to the audience because the audience wouldn't expect and small explosion with word 'BOOM' coming out. 
Our third idea is  different colours, but darker to come in together and bring out. This has a darker theme to it to show the contrast between this and the channels that will be brought out on the channel. This will be different compared to other channels, showing that you don't need TV idents to have a good channel

This is our fourth idea for our Boom channel. This idents is meant to have a fire effect to it and the word which is supposed to represent that is the word 'BOOM' which is meant to show that the channel will be so good and get you to watch more and it will give you a warm feeling inside that will want you to keep on watching.


Our final idea of an ident for our channel is all in blue. This is because the lighter colours give off a calming feel, while the darker colours and the black have a more intense feel. Maybe, showcasing what channels to expect on the channel.

Analysis of existing idents



 Below are three different idents that we have analysed. 








Market Research Analysis

We went on SurveyMonkey to make a  questionnaires for our target audience to answer to see what they prefer to see in the ident they watch. This helps us to make our TV ident because  it shows what our audience enjoy to see and we will make our ident based on the results we received from our target audience.

The first question we asked is based on the feature in an ident as you can see above. We have discovered from this question that 66.67% said they prefer video/animation, 33.33% said they prefer music. from this question we now know at which features we should focus more on . This also helps us outline the which feature should be used more than others


Following to our second question which is about pace,  we could use this information to know how fast we should make the ident . This means we will be able to show the ident on the correct speed to the audience's liking. This also  means that we  will be showing the audience a fast/slow ident for them to read the information that will be shown.
Based on our next question that was asked on the survey we were able to know what people want to see on the ident because it clearly tells us that more people don't mind what they see on they ident as long its good enough.
From our next question that we asked we can gather the information of what people like to see with the lighting effects in the ident. From this we can tell that more people like colorful and bright idents.
The next question we asked was about what colour they prefer to see and from this question we can see what colour people like more than others.
from our second last question that we have on the survey we can gather the information of if people want a continuity announcer or not in the ident.
